WHO I AM

I believe there is more to a person than what they do for a living. Outside of work, I love to be physically active, read, write, and travel. I stay healthy and grounded through my yoga practice and hiking. Currently I am reading "Atomic Habits" by James Clear and writing a children's book. I value positive personal and professional growth, authenticity, and making the best use of the time that I have in this world.

INFORMAL RESUME (WHAT I DO IN PLAIN ENGLISH)

TRAINING SPECIALIST, HUNTINGTON INGALLS INDUSRTRIES

AUG 2021 - PRESENT

I build classes and train court staff across the nation how to use the government created software that bankruptcy courts use for daily ops. These classes are held through Microsoft Teams and are live and virtual.

ACADEMIC ADVISOR, THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT SAN ANTONIO

DEC 2020 - AUG 2021

This was one of my favorite jobs because I helped people every single day and often got to see the fruit of my labor. I had the wonderful opportunity to work hands on with undergraduate students guiding them in academic policy and career planning. This role was so much more that telling students what classes to take in order to graduate on time. Everyday I had the privilege to help students increase their maturity, problem solving skills, professionalism, and the ability to recognize their own potential.

PROGRAM COORDINATOR,

THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT SAN ANTONIO

AUG 2020-DEC 2020
(PROMOTED)

After the professional hurdle of pandemic related layoffs, I not only rebounded, but advanced my career with UTSA in this position. With a massive rebranding of the college identity, I was a vital part of the Tactical Visioning Team. Additionally, I reorganized scholarship protocol and created a new student orientation program for liberal and fine arts undergraduates. I worked closely with the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies in a Texas wide comparison of degree requirements which would serve as the data for the justification to adjust UTSA's degree requirements

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOCIATE II,

THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT SAN ANTONIO

MAY 2018-JUL 2020
(PROMOTED)

I served the Department of History's daily administrative and financial operations with a large focus on managing the department's graduate program. I tracked and reported the graduate and travel budget, hired, trained, and supervised the student staff, organized department events, advised and supported graduate student needs, and took on all the daily needs of the 20+ faculty and Department Chair.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOCIATE I,

THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT SAN ANTONIO

MAR 2017-MAY 2018 (PROMOTED)

What began as a temporary office position blossomed into a full time permanent position and a subsequent promotion. I managed the office front desk by organizing in and outbound calling, walk ins, appointment management, and training student staff on FERPA law compliance. It was this role that taught me the challenges and rewards of supervising a team.
